Our RWM Bro. Mark Nevin had the pleasure of presenting Bro. James Ellis Past Master of Lodge Hope Bridge Castle no 827 with honorary membership into our Lodge. Bro. Ellis PM has for many years supported our Lodge and for those who have attended would have witnessed his contributions to our burns suppers over the years. Aswell as being a great supporter to our Lodge Bro. Ellis PM is also the current Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master of Linlithgowshire and does an incredible amount of work for all the daughter lodges in the Province.
On the evening of receiving Honorary Membership Bro. Ellis PM was supported by a large deputation from his mother lodge headed by RWM Bro. James Morrow RWM Bro. Mark Nevin along with Bro. Bob Potter PM and Bro. David Watt PM presenting a cheque for £600.00 on behalf of the Lodge To Mr David Mieras ( Chairman ) and M/s Carole McLennan ( director) for The Seagulls Trust Cruises, a local charity based in Ratho.
The Seagull Trust was founded in 1978 to provide cruises for disabled people of all ages, across Scotland. In 2007, the Trust became known as Seagull Trust Cruises with a goal of extending its work across Scotland, to provide cruises to people with special needs. www.seagulltrust.org.uk Bro. Bob Potter PM and Bro. David Watt PM are both volunteers for The Seagulls Trust Immediate Past Master Brother Kenny McMaster went along to The Western General Hospital in Edinburgh to present a cheque of £425.00 to Dr Lesley Stark for Bowel and Cancer Research on behalf of the brethren of Lodge Kirknewton and Ratho no 85.

www.kidsloveclothes.co.uk On the evening of Friday 30th November 2018 the masters of Lodge Kirknewton and Ratho no 85 Bro Mark Nevin, Lodge Kirkliston Maitland no 482 Bro Gordon Yeoman and Lodge St Margaret no 548 worked the 'RATHKIRKFERRY' degree. A second degree conferred on Bro Euan Campbell of Lodge Kirkliston Maitland no 482. It is the first time the degree has been carried out since 1990 when it was last held by Lodge Kirkliston Maitland no 482, Bro John Anderson RWM 548 being the candidate on that evening. It was a very historical evening for all 3 lodges cementing the already close ties of the 3 lodges together. Both Bro Gordon Yeoman and Bro John Anderson are honorary members of Lodge Kirknewton and Rath no 85 which made the evening that little more special. We received deputations from Lodge Kirkliston Maitland no 482, Lodge St Margaret no548, Lodge Tay and Lyon no 276, Lodge St Andrews Livingston Station no 1587 and the Provincial Grand Lodge of Linlithgowshire. A cheque was presented to the lodge by RWM of Lodge Tay and Lyon no 276 Bro Mike Carry for the Sum of £276.00 to show their gratitude to RWM Bro Mark Nevin for helping them update their Past Masters Board at very short notice for their bi-centenary celebrations. ST ANDREWS DAY HARMONY At the conclusion of the meeting the brethren were treated to a lovely bowl of Scotch Broth kindly made by Mrs Margret Ann Potter, wife of Past Master Bro Bob Potter. Everyone was then thoroughly entertained by our talented list of artists with their Scottish Harmony Coordinated by stand Director of Music, Past Master Bro Bob Scott . On Friday 9th November we had the pleasure of welcoming a fantastic delegation from several lodges in Germany. The most senior brother of the delegation is Bro. Dr. Michael Ammen, RWM Wilhelm zum silbernen Anker, No.454 in Wilhelmshaven. The brethren were entertained by the office bearers Initiating one gentleman into the mysteries and privileges of Ancient Freemasonry. Followed by some of our famous hospitality at our Harmony Board.
On Friday 9th November 2018, we had the Honour to bestow Honorary Membership upon Bro William Alexander Innes IPM Caledonian Lodge no392. Bro Innes has for a number of years always worked away in the background for this lodge and supported our Lodge and a great deal of its Brethren. On the same evening a very large and distinguished deputation from The Caledonian Lodge no 392 headed by their own RWM Bro John Baird came along to Support Bro Innes on what was a very memorable evening for all concerned.
Saturday 6th October - Annual Dinner Dance
Thank you to all who attended and supported our annual dinner dance at Ratho Park Golf Club which was a fantastic evening. Excellent food and company along with a bumper raffle raising £463.00 for charity made the evening a great success. Thank you to Bro Alan Borsby of Lodge St John Stoneyburn 1186 for supplying the entertainment on the evening. Looking forward to next year already
