Lodge Freedom 5341 visit

On Friday 21st October 2016 the RWM accompanied by Bro. Murrie Thomson pm Lodge Kirkliston Maitland 482 (not his birth name according to his easyjet ticket) flew down to London to attend the installation of Bro. Hemal Wijesuriya at Lodge Freedom 5341 held within the premises of Grand Lodge of England, English constitution on Saturday 22nd. Just prior to the tyle it became apparent that they were short of office bearers and the intrepid duo from Scotland were asked to stand in as Junior and Senior Wardens. They duly carried out all duties required of them and were warmly praised and thanked towards the end of the meeting and during the sumptuous meal and Harmony board afterwards by both the newly installed RWM and visiting Senior Grand Lodge representative Bro. John P Smith. Our RWM then replied to the toast to the visitors and at the conclusion both he and Bro. Murrie joined the remaining brethren in a nearby hostelry to strengthen the bonds between our two constitutions. Both then endured the long journey home in 1st class on Virgin trains Sunday (other carriers are available). Our sincere thanks to Bro. Nick Millings pm, Bro. Robert Stevens pm and all the brethren from Lodge Freedom for their hospitality and friendship throughout.
